Chopard Watches:

The idea of Louis-Ulysse Chopard to create pocket watches and chronometers of stature turned out to be very successful and since its foundation in 1860 the company never stopped amazing with its wrist watches masterpieces.

Louis-Ulysse Chopard was only 24 when he founded his company.

The Chopard brand is one of the few that designs its own watch movements. These watch movements are named L.U.C. These initials stand for Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Some of the most unique watches created by Chopard can be found in Diamond and Happy Sport watch lines.

Each line has its signature floating diamonds on the dial.

After about a century in the watchmaking business the company was bought by Karl Scheufele in 1963. Karl Scheufele, being a jeweler at that time, proposed the idea to combine watchmaking and jewelry in one brand. His aim was to create a company that he could lead to higher levels of accomplishment what concerns design and technology.

A new page for the famous brand was created when Karl Scheufele constructed in Meyrin-Geneva a production facility. 1976 was the year when Chopard unveiled the Happy Diamonds collection which is very famous nowadays.

Later in 1980s a collection of Gstaad timepieces was launched.

Mille Miglia watch was a result of tight collaboration of Chopard and its official partner Mille Miglia. Their creation is considered to be an icon of vintage automobile racing. Starting with the 10th decade of the 20th century the offsprings of Karl and Karin Scheufele were involved in their family business. Their daughter, Caroline dealt with jewelry design and her brother Karl-Friedrich began managing the wrist watches division.

The opening of the movement factory in Fleurier in 1996 was a step which helped the brand to establish itself as a complete manufacturer. The debut of L.U.C. movement the same year was a big impulse for all movements that were to come. The Chopard's collections of jewelry and watches for ladies are astonishing. These collections vary from Happy Diamonds to Happy Sport and from chic La Strada – a collection inspired from the 1950s and to the innovative collections named Pushkin and Ice Cube, which are colorful and have beautiful shapes and at the same time they involve innovations. All of the above stated features are conspicuous driving forces. The innovative designs and mechanisms boosted the brand to the heights of the watch market creating its independence – which is not that often met among today's companies. The jewelry made by Chopard is performed with a great attention to details. Every stone used is hand-picked and each design is performed with care. The smooth pieces on Chopard's masterpieces need many hours of hard work. The L.U.C. Sport 2000 collection was unveiled in 1999. The following 2000 year was the year of L.U.C Quattro watch. This wrist watch is equipped with a new caliber with four barrels and nine days of power reserve.
